The Spanish Grand Prix takes place on the first of June. The race takes place in Barcelona around Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. This is the penultimate race in Barcelona until at least 2035 as the Spanish Grand Prix will take place on the street circuit around Madrid from 2026. The track is 4.657 km long with 14 turns. The lap record is 1:16.330 set by Max Verstappen during the 2023 F1 Grand Prix. The race has 66 laps and is 307.236 kilometers long. there are 2 DRS zones with 2 detection points.

It is the home grand Prix of Carlos Sainz and Fernando Alonso.

Williams driver Carlos Sainz, has had a fairly positive start to his time at Williams. Sainz is in his 11th year in formula one having made his debut in 2015 with Toro Rosso, since then he’s driven for Renault, Mclaren and Ferrari. He moved to Williams after he was replaced at Ferrari by Lewis Hamilton. Sainz has 4 wins to his name, all during his time at Ferrari, including a win in Australia 2 weeks after surgery to have his appendix taken out. His best finish in Spain is 4th place.

Meanwhile Aston Martin driver Fernando Alonso has been in F1 since 2001, he’s started more Grand Prix then any other driver with 409, across 22 seasons. in that time he has won 32 races and two world championships in 2005 and 2006 with Renault. He’s not had the best start to the season having scored no points and having DNFed in three races already, he’ll be hoping his home race he’ll have more luck. He’s won his home race twice.

My food options for Spain are, the Main meal is Paella, the sides are two tapas dishes of Patatas Bravas and a Salad, the dessert is Churros.
