The Monaco Grand Prix takes place on the 25th of May. It takes place around the Circuit de Monaco. It is the second race of a triple header with Imola and Barcelona. The track is 3.337 km long with 19 turns. The lap record is 1:12.909 set by Lewis Hamilton in 2021. The race has 78 laps and is 260.289 km long. There is 1 DRS zones and 1 detection points.

The first GP at the track was held in 1950, since 1955 it has been on the F1 calendar ever year except 2020, due to COVID. It is the slowest track on the calendar, with the average speed only being about 150km/h, which is why Monaco is significantly shorter in distance as it takes the same time as other tracks to complete the race. The current era of cars make it virtually impossible to pass in Monaco meaning the race itself can be quite boring but Qualifying is one of the best of the season as it is so important. Last year for the first time in F1, the race was one by one of their own in Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc.

Monaco is the home grand prix to Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc. Of all the drivers on the grid Leclerc grew up closest to his home grand prix. Leclerc who was part of the Ferrari Driver Academy spent his rookie year at Sauber where he showed such promise that Ferrari promoted him after just one year in F1. He’s now in his 7th season with Ferrari were he’s won 8 races, his first coming in Spa 2019, he’s won Ferrari’s home GP Monza twice, (2019 and 2024) and his home GP once (2024), his most recent win came at the 2024 USA grand prix at the COTA. Leclerc has 44 podiums to his name the most recent in Jeddah 2025, he also has 26 pole positions to his name. Before F1 he won both the GP3 series and F2 in his rookie years.
