The Miami Grand Prix takes place on the 4th of May. It takes places at the Miami international autodome, it is a road race set in the hard rock stadium complex, in Miami Gardens the home to NFL’s Miami Dolphins. The track is 5.412 km long with 19 turns. The lap record is 1:29.708 set by Max Verstappen in 2023. The race has 57 laps and is 308.238 km long. There is 3 DRS zones and 3 detection points.
It was first introduced in the 2022 season, Verstappen won the first two races there but was beaten to the checkered flag by Lando Norris last year who got his maiden win. Miami is the first of the 3 USA tracks on the calendar with Austin and Las Vegas happening towards the end of the season. The paddock in Miami is inside the stadium.
Miami is one of three home races for Moneygram HAAS F1 team. HAAS finished 7th last season. However they’ve got an all new line up this season with Esteban Ocon and Rookie Ollie Bearman. They’ve had a mixed start to the season, despite often struggling in Qualifying and being the slowest team in Melbourne they have managed to get 20 points and sit in 6th place at the moment.
My Miami food options are, Beer Battered fish tacos with mango margarita salsa, grilled shrimp, rocket and watermelon salad and Key lime pie.
