Driver Home Country – France

This is the second of the recipes from drivers home countries who don’t have home races. The rest will be posted, in the coming weeks during the summer break. (minus Argentina as I planned them all preseason). Three drivers call France home.

France is the home country of Visa Cash App Racing Bulls driver Isack Hadjar. Hadjar’s F1 debut came in Australia 2025, although it was a race to forget for him, as he crashed out on the formation lap. He’s bounced back well since then though, scoring 22 points so far this season. This includes a best finish of P6 in Monaco.

France is also the Home country of Alpine driver, Pierre Gasly. Gasly made his F1 debut at the Malaysian GP in 2017 where he replaced Daniil Kvyat at Toro Rosso mid season. Gasly, has 5 podiums including a P1 in Monza 2020, for Alpha Tauri. He was promoted to Redbull from Toro Rosso in 2019 but was dropped back to Toro Rosso mid season. He left the Redbull junior team at the end of the 2022 season for Alpine.

HAAS driver Esteban Ocon is the third driver from France. Ocon made his F1 debut at the 2016 Belgium GP where he replaced Rio Haryanto mid season, for manor racing. He then moved to Racing Point in 2017, before being dropped in 2018 and spending a year as Mercedes reserve driver in 2019. He then went to Alpine in 2020, before leaving there at the end of the 2024 season to join HAAS. During his time at Alpine Ocon got 4 podiums including a win in Hungary 2021.

My France Meal options are, Main is Chicken Normandy, side is Normandy Blend Vegetables and dessert is Crepes Mylene. (As I had to sneak into the South of France for Monaco, I decided to make France Northern France, especially with both Ocon and Gasly being from Normandy)
