Back as the first race of the season for the first time since 2019 the Australia Grand Prix takes place on the 16th March 2025. The race takes place in Melbourne at the Albert Park circuit. The track is 5.278km long with 9 turns. The Lap record is 1:19.813 set by Charles Leclerc during the 2024 F1 Grand Prix. The race has 58 laps and is 306.124 kilometers long. It is the home grand Prix of Oscar Piastri and Jack Doohan

Melbourne born, 23 year old Oscar Piastri is entering his third year in Formula One. In 2024 his two wins in Hungary and Baku helped Mclaren take the constructors title for the first time since 1998. As well as his two Grand Prix victories Oscar has 2 sprint wins including one in his rookie year. He has ten podiums in F1. Before F1 Oscar took the F2 and F3 titles in consecutive years.

Meanwhile 21 year old Jack Doohan is in his Rookie year and will be driving for Alpine. He made his debut in Abu Dhabi 2024 replacing dropped Esteban Ocon for the last race of last season, where he finished 15th Son of Moto GP champion Mick Doohan, he’s grown up in the motorsport world. Last year at the Aus GP the two of them got to share the track for a few laps, with Mick on his bike and Jack driving a car. (it was meant to be the 2000 Benetton F1 car but it broke down).

As well as these two, Mercedes reserve driver Valterri Bottas, despite being Finnish claims Australia as a home race. His partner is from Adelaide so he spends his winter break there. With his trademark Mullet he fits right in. Having driven for Mercedes between 2017-2021 where he helped them to 5 constructors championships, he rejoined the team in 2025, after losing his seat at Sauber. Bottas has 10 wins, 67 podiums and 20 pole positions, to his name.
